From Interdependence to Immersion to Independence (III)

Hello everyone.  Would you like to see a new location for inclusive family fun in the Raleigh area?

Shelva’s Help is a 501c3 non-profit program with cognitive, social and physical strengthening.  The vision for Shelva’s Help is comprised of three components.

1.       Independent play.  We consulted with a physical therapist, track strengthening coach and psychiatrist in designing 6 mazes and selecting 11 commercial attractions in creating Beyond My Expectations http://beyondmyexpectations.net ,an indoor entertainment facility with scalable cognitive, social and physical strengthening courses.  Our goal is to help guest progressively aspire for more independence in social settings than the current boundaries set by stigmas by using our Beyond My Expectations entertainment center’s manually operated attractions and tracking their progress each visit.

2.       Morning strengthening classes.  We consult with NC State’s Ergonomics OSHA Guidelines Instructor and will hire trainers to teach persons with cognitive delays adaptive classes on safety skill which can ultimately empower them with the safety skills needed for more employment and social options.

3.       Research.   A study to measure physical activity’s impact on cognitive development with phased multi-level interventions in cognitive, social and physical progression.   Hardware and software program will track and assess participants rate and level of progress in developing portable skills for real world settings- outside of a clinical environment.

Shelva’s Help will host an attraction fund raiser for its independent play facility, Beyond My Expectations on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Omega Sports in Morrisville from 6pm to 9pm. There will be three hourly $50 Omega Sports gift card drawings for guests of Shelva’s Help.   Also, Shelva’s Help Friends and Family will receive an additional 10% off their entire purchase.  We will need your help with donations and spreading the great news about Shelva’s Help to others if we are going to ensure as many people as possible are empowered with more options to succeed cognitively, socially and physically in our community.

You can donate in person this Saturday at Omega Sports or via the  iFundWomen - Shelva's Help Campaign.

Thank you in advance for your support.
