My name is Kellye Jones, and I am writing on behalf of Shelva’s Help.   Our organization is committed to awarding scholarships for high school graduates diagnosed with Autism. Shelva’s Help mission is to provide persons diagnosed with autism leaning options (prompts, mirroring, parallel play, immersion or independence) in developing the physical and cognitive skills they need to reach their full potential.  Shelva’s Help will provide a kinetic approach with progress measurement to assist guests in the continuum of learning and safety skills for greater independence.

Our vision at Shelva’s Help is to provide holistic options for adolescent and adults with autism in their approach to cognitive and physical skill development.   Guests will be able to obtain tangible results on their progress whether they choose a group program or independent courses.  The goal is to create opportunities for the onlooker as well as the active person diagnosed with autism to be able to select programs which best compliment their current skill set and the way they learn.

Phase Two for Shelva’s Help, will include noninvasive observational clinical trials to uncover quantifiable benefits of physical strengthening for persons diagnosed with regressive autism symptoms during adolescence.  The Shelva’s Help measuring Physical Education’s impact in a Regressive Autism Diagnosis (SHePhERD) project will work with therapists and at least one psychiatrist at all times to uncover the rate of progress in developing job preparedness cognitive skills.  Shelva’s Help will work with companies which employ persons for repetitive job skills.

Shelva’s Help Scholarship Program will secure donations to ensure more high school students with autism are provided a new option for adaptive physical and cognitive skill development.  We encourage all families with social and physical activity limitations due to the challenges of autism to apply for individual as well as family scholarships. Shelva’s Help is committed to awarding scholarships to the 1 in 58 persons with autism providing them more opportunities to expand their current set of skills.
